“Part of the exhibition “LA+003 | Malima + Numbulwar" This artwork is to be collected at LaPerouse Museum, Sydney in February 2027."

This carefully woven piece puts natural materials front and centre, expressing a natural beauty that speaks of the Country it comes from.

Locally harvested pandanus leaves are woven raw, or naturally dyed using roots, leaves or flowers to produce a beautiful, subdued colour palette.

This basket is uniquely woven around a fan grid, giving structure to the organic form. We also reuse and “harvest” materials at the tip, honouring what is available to us and giving new life to what might otherwise be discarded.

Each basket is a unique piece, reflecting the natural materials, colours and story of its Country.

Materials: Gunga (Pandanus Spiralis), natural dyes and ghost net
Dimensions: 46cm
Cat no: 387-26
