SUN MATS BY YULKI NUNGGUMAJBARR

A$550.00

Woven mats were used in the olden days to sit and sleep on, often for babies, intricately and lovingly made with pandanus and natural dyes. They are also used ceremonially, and hold an important place in Numburindi culture.

Yulki is a master fibre artist who has been weaving for more than 70 years. In recent years she has turned to painting, depicting her fibre art practice with the same colour and vibrant expression that she brings to her weaving.

Sun Mats is an original work, painted with acrylic on reclaimed cardboard. Framing is included, and a certificate of authenticity will be provided with the work.

395 x 505 cm (framed)

FREE SHIPPING within Australia.

Dimensions: 39.5 x 50.5 cm (framed)
